The hinges are fully intact and the binding is tight and sound. Other than that, I found no marks or serious blemishes to the interior pages they are clean and bright throughout. There is a former owner's book plate on the ffep. The decorations on the cover and the spine are still readily visible. The spine is still bright and fully legible except for the publishers name at the bottom which suffered from some light bumping. There are also 16 plates mostly illustrations taken from portraits of the personalities involved in the war.Condition : This book is in very good condition (please see the photos while noting that the digital camera tends to be far more critical than the naked eye). The book contains 37 chapters, an index and a foldout "Sketch Map" of the Arabian Peninsula from the Suez to Mecca along the Red Sea. The end papers are decorated with a desert caravan scene of mounted camels and the frontispiece is a portrait of Lawrence "after a portrait by Augustus John".Contents : This is the story, written by Lawrence of his work as a leader and guide to the Arab Revolt against the Turks during the First World War 1916-18. The book measures 6 ½ x 9 ¼ inches and contains 335 pages. I remember selling, not too long ago, another copy of this same "First Printing" but I think it was published by Doubleday, Doran of Garden City! This book is bound in a sort of mauve (grayish pink) cloth with black titles and decorations, on the cover and the spine. of New York and is stated to be "First Printing in America, March, 1927".
