Movie Shoes: This one is set in America and I didn’t like it as much as the others. It’s a very fun look at what life would be like if you joined the circus. Again it’s about two siblings who are training to become a part of a circus. Instead of being about the stage, its obviously about the Circus. Circus Shoes: This book is probably the most distinct from her other books. There is also a rival they have to compete with, an extremely spoiled and selfish girl named Dulcie who makes their life interesting. The contrast between the two was always very intriguing to me, and I loved reading about their life as part of a dancing troupe. The other sister is very impulsive and views life a joke and adventure. Dancing Shoes: This book is about two sisters, one is very solemn and takes dancing very seriously.I both love the character’s, their eccentric family, and the stories about their life at a school dedicated to preparing them for the stage. They go to live with their grandmother who used to be an actress and start attending the theater school teaching them how to dance and act. Theater Shoes: This story is about three siblings, they remind me a bit of the Pevensies from the Chronicles of Narnia actually.I have to start this list by making sure you’re aware of all of the other lovely books by Noel Streatfeild. If you have any books you’d recommend I add please comment. Hopefully this list will be helpful to you. I always had a hard time finding books that were similar. My favorite of all of them was Ballet Shoes. So Selina and her cousins decide to organize a pageant with acting, singing, dancing and dressing-up.Growing up I absolutely loved the Shoe Series by Noel Streatfeild. A beautiful long evening-dress and shiny satin party shoes - the best present a girl could ever wish for! She can hardly wait for a special occasion to wear them, but there's still a war on and all the grown-ups are far too busy to arrange a party.

There's great excitement when an unexpected parcel arrives for Selina. A perfect companion to Ballet Shoes, Circus Shoes, Theatre Shoes and Tennis Shoes, this family war-time story was first published in 1946, reissued now in A Puffin Book.
